Student FAQs

What should I wear?

The most important thing is your comfort! People come dressed in all manner of clothing for CSO performances. Opera and Thursday Symphony performances tend to be the most formal, and people typically dress in "Sunday best" or business meeting attire. Friday Masterworks and Pops performances have a more relaxed feel with attire ranging from jeans to dresses.

How do I add another ticket if I’ve already placed an order?

If you need to add a ticket to your order, simply place the secondary order under the same name.

What time should I come?

Box Office at the Tivoli opens at 6:00 p.m. on the day of a concert. It is best to arrive prior to 7:30 to account for parking and lines.

I have time management issues. What if I am late?

Concerts begin promptly at 8:00 p.m. If you are not seated by this time, you will have to wait until after intermission to take your seat.

How do I get a program book?

Program books are available only after purchase of a ticket.

What student IDs are accepted?

Student IDs are accepted from all schools, colleges and universities. If you are under age 18, you do not need an Student ID.

You keep mentioning "valid" student IDs. What does this mean?

For a Student ID to be "valid" it must have the current year’s date. Most schools provide a sticker for each semester for your Student ID.

Is there anything good to do around the area before a concert?

Many students arrive early to purchase seats together, which is a great idea! There is a good-sized Starbucks two blocks down from the Tivoli at the Read House, or several options for dinner/drinks closer to the Aquarium.
