Musician Biography

Steve Tonkinson

Steve Tonkinson has been with the CSO as Education and Outreach Manager since 2001. He taught music in school for over twenty years in Texas, Missouri and Tennessee. He has also played clarinet with the Wichita Falls (Texas) Symphony Orchestra, Springfield (Missouri) Symphony Orchestra and the Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra (since 1991). He received a Bachelor of Music degree (clarinet) from Midwestern University (Wichita Falls), a Master of Music degree (clarinet) from the University of Oklahoma, and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree (conducting) from the University of Missouri at Kansas City.
