
Anne Moore Hendrix is a native of Chattanooga, Tennessee and a graduate of Brainerd High School. She began playing violin at age nine in the strings program of the Chattanooga Public Schools. A member of the Chattanooga Symphony Youth Orchestra for four years, she studied with Christine Keith, Marsha Bean, and Donald Zimmer in junior high and high school. During high school, Anne spent two summers at the Sewanee Summer Music Festival, held at the University of the South, where she studied with Robert Strava and Aaron Krosnick. Anne was a member of the Tennessee All-State Orchestra all three years in high school.
Anne attended Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Florida where she was a music education major, studying with Aaron Krosnick. At JU, Anne was on the Dean’s List and was a member of Mu Phi Epsilon Professional Music Fraternity. Anne received her Bachelor of Science in Music Education, magna cum laude from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where she studied with Donald Zimmer. At UTC, Anne was on the Dean’s List and was elected to Golden Key Honor Society, Mortar Board, and Alpha Society. Anne holds Tennessee teacher certification in school and instrumental music K-12 and elementary education grades 1-8. She also is trained in teaching the Suzuki violin method.
In her senior year at UTC in 1984, Anne joined the violin section of the Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra. She taught elementary and middle school general music and strings in the local public schools for nine years, “retiring” to be a stay-at-home mom. Anne has taught Kindermusik for Cadek Conservatory of Music for eleven years, holding Professional Teacher Certification from Kindermusik International. She teaches approximately 100 students ages newborn to five every semester.
Anne and her husband Tim have three children and one grandchild. She volunteers as an aquatics instructor for the Cherokee Area Boy Scout Council. Anne is also busy as a volunteer with the Soddy Daisy High School Band Boosters. She is active in the music ministry at Dallas Bay Baptist Church, playing in the orchestra and accompanying soloists.
