Sheri Peck is a native of Marietta, GA. At the age of 5 she began her violin training with Lynn Baughman at the Suzuki School for the Arts in Atlanta. In high school, she studied with Virginia-Gene Rittenhouse and toured the U.S. and abroad as a soloist and member of the New England Youth Ensemble (based in South Lancaster, MA). In 1989, She joined the Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra as a section first violinist. In 1992, she completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Violin Performance from Southern Adventist University (Collegedale, TN) where she studied with Mark Reneau. In that same year she won the full-time position of CSO Principal Second Violin, a position she currently holds.
She also performs regularly with the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra and has performed with the Alabama Symphony, Charleston Symphony, John's Creek Symphony, Memphis Symphony, Rome Symphony, Valdosta Symphony, and TN Summer Symphony. As a chamber musician, Sheri has been principal second violinist with the Chamber Orchestra of TN since 2002, and first violinist with the Tempo Primo String Quartet since 1994. Summer festivals include the Baroque Performance Institute at Oberlin College, Superior Music Festival/Finn Grand Fest in Marquette, MI, and the Bach Festival in Rome, GA. Most recently Sheri has joined the New Dischord ensemble.
