Sandy Morris

Sandy Morris is looking forward to her tenth season as Conductor of the Chattanooga Youth Philharmonic. She has directed orchestras, bands and choirs in Chattanooga for over 25 years. She received a B.S. in Music Education from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, a M.M. in Music Education from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and a M.M. in Conducting from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Sandy has done graduate work in conducting and string pedagogy at University of Iowa, Orchestral Institute of America, University of Wisconsin-Madison, and has attended workshops sponsored by the American Symphony Orchestra League and the Conductors’ Guild. Her conducting teachers have included Dr. Steven Bird, Dr. William Larue Jones, and Dr. Marvin Rabin.

Sandy is Director of Strings and Music Theory at Chattanooga Center for Creative Arts and is also Music Director for Good Shepherd Lutheran Church as well as Conductor of the Signal Mountain Playhouse Orchestra.
