The Lee University Chorale is an ensemble of highly motivated vocalists that are selected by audition. The size and particular vocal mixture provides the opportunity to present a wide repertoire of standard choral works with careful attention to appropriate performance practice. An emphasis is placed on the diversity and breadth of traditional choral literature. Although the Chorale membership represents a sampling of many of the majors offered at the university, several of the ensemble members are seeking professional music careers as artists, church musicians and music teachers. The summer of 2008 took Chorale on their first tour of Italy with concerts at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome and St. Mark’s Cathedral in Venice. In addition, they have recently enjoyed performances at Carnegie Hall and the Tennessee Music Educator’s Conference.
