Thanks to Friends of the CSO, the CSO is in the schools, teaching kids about live music, showing kids how instruments work, talking to them about music and instruments and what its like to play an instrument.

You are helping to expose thousands of children to great classical music; a small but meaningful antidote to the “pop culture” showered upon them day in and day out.

The CSO Youth Orchestras provide talented young musicians of the greater Chattanooga area with the opportunity to perform in a full orchestra as well as develop skills they can use for the rest of their lives.

Your gift to the CSO will help us touch the lives of more than 60,000 people annually with our concerts and educational programs.

Some of the specific CSO programs your contribution supports include:

• Ensembles in Schools, an introductory music appreciation program offered to regional schools.
• Music Arts and Healing, a musical program offered to healthcare facilities for patients, families and caregivers.
• Young Peoples’ Concerts, programs designed especially for students in grades 3-8, Young Peoples’ Concerts feature the CSO Orchestra side-by-side with the CSO Youth Orchestra.
