Friends of the CSO

Friends of the CSO allow for annual giving to cover the multitude of costs not covered by ticket sales and special events. These gifts are deposited into the CSO General Operating Budget unless otherwise specified. All gifts are tax-deductible as allowed by law.

Friends of the CSO Tribute Gifts

Acknowledge a special occasion or birthday with a Friend of the CSO gift in honor of a friend or family member. Comfort someone close to you with a Friend of the CSO gift in memory of a loved one. All gifts are tax-deductible, and the individual or family is informed of the gift. These gifts are appreciated as a lasting tribute. The CSO offers two special opportunities for you to recognize a special event or person:

Honorariums

A special way to say thank you or to recognize a special person. An honorarium allows you to make a gift in someone's name to recognize a birthday, anniversary, graduation or just to say thank you. The individual or family will be recognized in the CSO Concert Program for the entire season, and will receive a gift card announcing the gift that has been made in their name.

Memorials

A memorial allows you to make a gift in memory of someone special. The family will receive a gift card announcing the gift, andrecognition will be placed in the CSO Concert Program for the season.

Gifts of Securities

Invest in the CSO! Gifts of appreciated securities may offer substantial tax advantages including forgiveness of the capital gains tax and an income tax charitable deduction for the fair market value of the securities. Contact your broker or financial advisor and the CSO today! Gifts of securities are counted as Friends of the CSO donations unless otherwise directed, with benefits appropriate to the amount of the gift.

Corporate Matching Gifts

Your company may match your contribution to the CSO. Please check with your employer. Your Human Resources office or Benefits office can tell you how your gift can make a greater impact through a Corporate Gift Matching program. Multiply your gift!

In-Kind Gifts

Individuals and businesses provide valuable support to the CSO through non-cash contributions such as services, products or tangible items such as office furniture or computer equipment.
